Children's Faith Formation

The mission of the Church is to joyfully evangelize and catechize; to tell the Good News of salvation in an age appropriate manner in order to form active disciples of Jesus Christ. Discipleship is a LIFE-long mission. It involves:

L– learning of salvation history and the teachings of the Catholic Church

I – integrating or connecting that knowledge of God’s love into everyday life

F- faithful followers, worshiping, praying and serving others in response to that  divine love.

E- engaging others by introducing them to Jesus Christ through our words and deeds.

St. Cronan’s Children’s Faith Formation is a unique, tailored religious education program for children from Kindergarten-8th Grade. We offer instruction in the Sacraments as well as grade-appropriate classes for all students. Meeting once per month, the children are instructed in the Catholic Faith with a Social Justice perspective. Parents receive supplemental materials to instruct children in their homes, creating a family religious culture that is designed to teach the Children to live their faith.

Children receive instruction as follows: Kindergarten, 1st Grade - instruction in knowing and loving God and Jesus, 2nd Grade – First Communion, 3rd Grade – First Reconciliation, 4-6 Grade – instruction in Social Teaching, Social Justice, and Faith in Action, 7-8 Grade – Confirmation preparation. Emphasis on what we believe, how we worship, how we live and how we pray occurs throughout all of the classes. We also strive to build community among the students and adults by participating in social justice activities.

If you have grade school children and are looking for instruction in Social Justice and Faith in Action, please consider enrolling your child in St. Cronan’s Children’s Faith Formation.

Classes have been meeting via Zoom since March, 2020. We will determine as a group the best way to meet in the Fall. We can also determine the best time to meet, should we be able to resume in-person classes.

Please join this unique community as we grow in our relationship with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and each other.

Sessions meet Sep-May on the 1st Sunday between the 8:00 and 10:00 Masses.
